Thank you all for the replies, I think everything you need sometimes is just a new start, I will have to think that one through. Actually I can still have the old channel online and just redirect all the few active subscribers to the new channel. I will see what the future will bring :)

I'm just really curious...let's just say we have a 4-year old channel, which over all the years got a really bad consistency with long pauses in between and over that period only 23 videos, but after all still 2500 subscribers. And all of sudden after that 4 years you would start uploading...

You are on the safe side, if you contact the artists of the respective songs directly and ask them for permission.

As far as I know the "We are number one" memes or that "TheLegend27" thing :D
