Okay, we've been making content for a year, gaining maybe... an average of 15-20 views per video. Its whatever, we don't do it for the views. Well, we've put hour upon days into some of our videos, decent sized skits and productions. Gaining anywhere from 40-100 views. Cool, right?

Well, I made a video the other day as a prank. You see, Overwatch porn was trending on Facebook and I was like okay... let's mess with some people. So we put up a video (in less than 15 minutes) that would bait people in and they'd be greated by Filthy Frank green screen elements telling them they were pranked.

That video went up 2 days ago and now has 787 views.

I.. can't even be proud of that. I made another post like this but. I genuinely want to know. Should I feel as horrible as I do?

It could get you a lot of views with potential subscribers but It will lead to people hating you.

If you do it from time to time as a joke i think its fine but if its constant click bait than i think you should feel bad

Videos that are made out of relevant topics that are trending then and there tend to get alot of views. There's a good border between trending and clickbait.
If you could continue to make videos in short spans of time on topics people are searching for in mass (such as the overwatch porn that was trending), then you could make yourself a decently sized fanbase over time that would heed to your regular videos.

I am working on that myself. Make videos people will find and get the fanbase before moving onto content that is more pure to you.
Just be careful with the clickbait, it can get you haters and consistent dislikers.

Click-bait is fantastic if used correctly! :)

Realistically, you have to use click-bait titles and thumbnails if you want to get noticed. However, the way you have used click-bait I would consider wrong, yes.

To use click-bait correctly, just have a title that relates at least somewhat to the video. Also have an interesting thumbnail with something on it that stands out. (y) (Y)

Yeah, clickbait only works if it is "Relevant" to the topic you are using the thumbnail for. Otherwise it will lead to either dislikes or haters, which is something not a lot of youtubers would like or desire for.

Don't get yourself into The trap of always using clickbait. Clickbait is awesome for April fools pranks. Viewers may get mad and stop watching your videos if you use it. Don't get carried away.
Agreed. I've got a youtube friend who literally clickbaits 24/7, and his videos usually get mixed reviews. So yeah, I agree with what you are saying :).

Click bait is the best videos... sometimes lol...
Yeah, one such channel who had some success with Clickbait videos are: Game society pimps(Good usage and very comedic content) and MxR Mods(somewhat MxR). On the other hand, videos which do not fit the context of the video which the clickbait is being used can fall short, imo, like for example you use a clickbait(title & thumbnail) and the clickbait has NOTHING to do with said video, that in my opinion is not a very good usage of clickbaits.
But I'm not saying "NOT" to use clickbait, we all have our methods of making our videos and growing our channels. But if you do, just use it effectively and don't just randomly do it and hope people will like it. Do it if it fits the context of your video(whether that be a game which is Teen or above, or vlog, or so forth).

Then again, this is coming from a channel who doesn't really use clickbaits :p.

My most viewed video is a Fine Bros diss track, but in that video, i actually dissed the fine bros. Sure, it's a little cheap to make your titles look like a Keemstar video: but if your video is relevant (and if it's porn, talk about the porn or something instead of showing it), then it's all good and you get moar views mane.

Moar views = moar bread too, so yeuh.
