Yeah you should but here is the problem. You actually have to be verified on YouTube inorder to upload custom thumbnails .I realized that when I was gonna add mine . :/

I'm not sure if I'm verified but I am able to upload them I have made a few, they weren't very good but I'm able to.

Oh yeah,maybe its cause you made your channel in 2015.Now the rules have changed we have to be verified.I got a message when I tried to add the custom thumbnail. I checked it up on google's support site.

If you have a small tick mark near your channel name it means you are verified .
