to get a verified name you need a reasonably large fan base who follow you on google+ and a good 100,000 subs

I have seen a lot of channels that have way below 100k that have the verification mark. I think that page only applies to people that are directly partnered with youtube instead of a network but I may be wrong.

But Freedom allows you whwn you complete 3k subs, you can get verified but you should also have 1000 Google + followers

I've seen a channel with less then 30 subs with 3 uploads with the verified tick lol

In order to apply for verification you will need to contact the support team: http://freedom2.support.tm/

You will however need a large user base in order to be considered. Some channels with lower have been verified as in the past there wasn't a limit imposed by YouTube, also network staff members can be verified under this limit.
